I had my HT room set up with HT2TL fronts, a HT2C center, and HT1TL surrounds.  But I had been hanging on to an old set of Polk FxiA6 dipole rear surrounds.  I spoke to Jim and he was kind enough to work up a set of custom wall mount rear surrounds with bottom ports for me.  They use the same drivers as a SongTower but work perfectly as rear surrounds.  They look great and sound great.  Could not be more pleased.

Looks like a great setup.  Do you have pictures of the rest of the room?  Are you using a sub?

I really like the way your surround speakers turned out.   I'd love to have a set of those with HT1 drivers.

Yes, I have pics in my gallery of all of the gear in my HT room as well as in my family room.

I thought about using the HT1 drivers too, but that made the speakers much more expensive, weigh more, and larger size.  So, considering what actual duties the rear surrounds are called upon to perform, the SongTower drivers made sense for me.  Jim guided me through all of this and his advise was excellent as usual.

Thanks guys!  I think I finally have nothing left on my HT/audio wish list.  That means I would be smart to quit reading posts on these forums!  But that won't happen. :duh:

Could you give us your impressions of the difference in sound quality between the Polks and the new Salks? Inquiring minds want to know!

My audiophile vocabulary is very under developed!  However, I will say this....  When listening to my 7.1 audio only, DTS-HD Master Audio, classical blu-ray collection, the room sounds much more like a real concert hall than it ever has.  This was the first thing I played with the new rear surrounds and I found the difference instantly noticeable.  Keep in mind these speakers are really there to create atmosphere rather than vocals and instruments.  They create space, make things like footsteps, opening doors, rain drops and fly overs all totally believable.  When watching movies with the extra rear surround fields, I distinctly notice a much more smooth, seemless and believable side to side movement of rear sound.  I am anxious to listen to much more media.  But I can say with total certainly that these were a very significant improvement.
