....so Bob (in StL), got your camera set up to take timed shots of the sh*t headed our way?
In an attempt to shoot another time lapse, I've got (deleted) a thousand photos (no exaggeration) of freezing rain, ice, sleet and snow in my yard. None of it is worth looking at. All of the accumulation happened at night, or while I was at work. I even set up the rig in the perfect spot to catch all that freezing rain we were supposed to get. I thought it would be cool to watch icicles form.
But no....We got 3" of sleet instead.

Well, the camera wasn't pointed at something that caught sleet.
Damn.

I was hoping for something "worthy". I thought it would be neat to get something cool and send it to the local TV station. Would be badass to see "A time lapse submitted by BobinStLouis".

I did manage to get some neat clouds on January 29th:
http://www.vimeo.com/19340779That "dusting" they called for last night brought me another 4".
My twelve year old son is getting good at shoveling snow.

My kids are on their 13th snow day at school.

Tina (my wife) keep tabs of school days, and the normal goings on, right? Well, she checked the calendar today and discovered that due to all these snow days, and various (planned) teacher functions, the kids have not had a full five day week since the last week of November.
I did get my 8000 watt generator prepped for the impending disaster. Hell, I even got out the roll of paper towels and some Windex and got it all shined up for the occasion.

A customer at my job is "The Head Chef of Prepared Foods" for all 100+ Schnucks stores. He came in the shop yesterday and was telling me about the friggen
epic sales numbers. They shattered about every record in the book the last couple days due to the panic the weatherman created. I asked him if Mr. Schnucks sends a nice gift to the weathermen every year as repayment. He just laughed. He also said it was one helluva hard choice to make to close all the stores as well. Ultimately, they did it for the safety of their employees.
