SOLD!!

This unique system is a complete Spectron Musician III Mark 2 monoblock setup, with a pair of Musician III Mark 2 amplifiers (one was upgraded from Signature) and a pair of custom Synergistic Research 1M Tesla XLR Y-adapter cables required for monoblock use (Spectron amps ship stereo and are bridged mono using both channels in invert polarity mode). These XLR Y-adapters are of the highest quality, and this signal transfer should not be underestimated in the setup of these monoblocks. ALSO, included is the one-of-a-kind Elrod Power prototype Remote Sense speaker cable systems (10 ft) that provides state-of-the-art signal transfer and feedback monitoring unique to the Spectron monoblocks, an ability unavailable with standard speaker cables. All the cables included have a $2000+ value alone.

Asking $6000.

Here is some info on the Spectron monoblocks, from Stereotimes’ review:

“Spectron amplifiers in the monoblock mode have three times the power and twice the headroom of a stereo amplifier. Spectron amplifiers are fully balanced when used in the monoblock configuration. The out of phase input in the balanced mode doubles the slew rate and bandwidth while suppressing both intrinsic amplifier distortions and noise that originates upstream from the amplifier.......“Was it too much power? No! I have said it before and repeat it here. Most systems are under-powered using the standard fare of 150-250 WPC amplifiers…Even though a stereo MK2 is no slouch in the bass and dynamics department, the monoblocks were more dynamic and had significantly more bass impact. But the differences did not end there. For me there were other, even more significant, differences……With the monoblocks there was a noticeable ease of presentation and the sound stage became more expansive while maintaining definition. My speakers seemed to grow. The monoblocks also provided a dramatic increase in tonal density.”

Other Spectron Musician III Mark 2 comments:

Spectron/Audio Analyses Room was declared "BEST SOUND OF THE SHOW" CES 2009, Las Vegas NV - see TAS, May 2009, p. 52.

"....[Spectron] have a crystalline purity in the reproduction of every voice and instrument that sounds more to me like the essence of live, unamplified music -- which I attend, on average, more than once a week year-round-- than any other amplifier, at any price, based on any technology, that I have ever heard"

- Wayne Donnelly, Blue Ribbon Award Citation, Enjoy The Music 2009.

" Recently, a friend of mine bought a new car - a Bentley Continental GT.....engine was silent and silky smooth and provided the sensation of taking off in 747... That is how I would describe listening to the Spectrons; quiet and luxurious with no sense of effort at any volume level... More than most other amps, the Spectrons allow you to feel the music (not the sound) as well as hear it... Like the Bentley, you don't think to yourself, "Wow! This is powerful!", you are not conscious of the power at all. You are conscious of the music in all its pristine glory without much of a perception of electronics at all; the music just is..."

- James L. Darby, Stereo Mojo September 2009

I’ve owned tons of amps, and these replaced the magical McCormack DNA-500. Their bass control, unbelievable ease of power handling and dynamics, and overall musicality are something to behold. A brute with finesse, a true audiophile set of POWER amps.

The amps and cabling with be shipped in their original boxes, with original manuals, etc. Buyer pays shipping. I recommend FedEx Home or UPS Ground. boxes weigh 64 lbs each (128 lbs total).

Paypal add 3% unless using personal tab.
