It is an interesting device -- my read says that it transfers encrypted data between two on-line Windows computers that can be on separate networks.  It probably would not work with the BDP-1 directly but it could be used to transfer between a Windows computer on the same network as the BDP-1 and another location.  This advantage of this device is a very good encryption scheme; however, encryption is not needed for music files.

As I said, that is my read -- others may see something else.

It looks like a good solution for USB Thumbdrive application.  Someone needs to test it with their BDP-1.

Their literature says that the device only works with the Windows OS but it is worth a try.

I read this is being file transfer capability (very cool btw) but the BDP-1 needs to see an actual file.  The user manual alludes to being able to open the original file on the originating computer (in order to edit it) so that means the BDP-1 would be reading files across a network from a USB connection...argh.,.....I can't imagine that "stream" (even though it's not technically streaming) or transfer rate would keep up.

Cool device, but I think the time and effort involved to get it to function with the BDP would be better off spent on getting BDP support for CIFS/NFS protocols for direct sharing with network connected computers....( gee for Friday, don't I sound like Mr. Poopy Pants....but you asked!)

Great weekend everyone.
