As per this thread...

http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=84260.0

...my Sanyo PLV-Z2 is DEAD, but I just can't seem to throw it in the trash.  Perhaps one of you with the right skill / time / patience can resurrect it.  It's yours for only the cost of shipping!
Plus I have a generic projector mount, nothing fancy, but it works and I'll throw it in.

Please PM me if interested.

If no interest, it's going out with the trash next week.

Thanks, Bob

To sweeten this deal, I also have a Sanyo PLV-Z2 that I'll donate for the cost of shipping. I've got it and it's remote packed away in the original box.

The problem with mine is that there's a blue "bleed" on the lower right third of the screen. My novice diagnosis would be the blue LCD panel has overheated from the multiple times the power went out at my house, causing the unit to heat soak since the fan wasn't cooling it down.

I think I've got two bulbs....The one that's in it, and another one. They've both got over 3,000 hours each on them. Changing bulbs didn't get rid of the blue either, so don't think you'll get off lucky.
Otherwise, it works great, the picture is fine. Especially if you like the color blue.

Maybe someone could turn these two projectors into one good one.  :thumb:

p.s. Two Bobs. Two Z2. Hmm.....

Tom, I meant to pull the box out of storage and measure and weigh it for UPS last night.
I forgot.

I'll do it tonight or Saturday at the latest.

Roughly, it's 15x15x12 and weighs 20 pounds or so. Would be shipped from 63051.

Bob

p.s. You may not get a hold of BobC for a while. He's presently attending funeral services for his projector.

Shipping to Tom this weekend (hopefully).

Good luck Tom.  I'd much rather give this to you than Rumpke!  If I had the skill I'd try to repair it and use as a second projector: tailgates, gaming, kids cartoons, backyard movies, etc.

Let me know if you get it running.  Just don't tell me it was super simple, or I'll be kicking myself  :duh:

That would be a Cardinal sin!
Preferably, I'd like for it be a huge PITA......that would make me feel much better.

I'm becoming the king of dumpster divers  8) but it may just end up changing dumpster zip codes

Actually I'd like it to get it working for a little while, then quietly die, so I can try the "hey dear, isn't the PJ cool.  Maybe we need one of these new Epson, LG, Panny, ____ ... jobbies?".  Nah, that would probably be considered a +1 on my 3 expensive hobbies limit.

Ditto here. ETA for mine is Wednesday.

Bob, thanks for letting me tag along on the coattails of your thread.
I think between the two of us, hopefully we've managed to gain another HT guy.
