"So, if you can take a stock Phillips player with a standard drawer transport, and make it sound better than my Audiomeca Mephisto II.X I'll surely be singing your praises"

Sure, no problem, I would love to have another believer...:)! Can you bring it with you next Saturday? It would be great!

Edit: Even more, if you'd like, I can bring my SACD1000 to your system so you can have a better idea...:)

Alex,

That would be the most accurate assessment option for me.  We can discuss the when of it at your Meet on the 27th.   I'm really looking forward to hearing your gear.

Not enirely my neck of the proverbial woods, as I live in Norway.  Maybe you'd like a skiing holiday?  There's still time before the snow buggers off...

Alex,
Just because your machine was mentioned by someone at the beginning of the thread you think you should come in and tell everyone everything you think about the Consonance, its DAC chip and your competing player?

Boy, have you got balls!  I would never go on to a competitors forum/commercial post and denegrate the person (subtle comments about no such thing as two channel only, any machine can have a tube output stage, separate space does not equal lower noise)....these comments may be true....but they are really nick picking and my sense is that you want to make Kevin look like he does not know as much as you and that your machine is superior.  Then commenting about the DAC chip, saying it is just the rear channel DAC in a $180 universal player really is a put down of the Consonance player.   It is not what you are saying but how and where......YOU don't belong on another persons commercial post unless asked by the person starting the post.  I don't understand your lack of tact or lack of concern about Kevins well being.....

What you should do is (on your own forum or website) is to create a list of all players currently in existence and write a super critical review of why they are so poor or why they are so great...like your love of old Sony transports, etc).  This way everything you could want to say is said and this list could be refererred to by OTHER people on different forums.  This way your strong opinions can be in print but YOU are not imposing them in other forums and threads unless asked directly for comments.

It is not good form and high compassion to post in other peoples forums/commercial posts.  " Try a little tenderness" as one singer told us.
Don't try and take over the whole world.....at once....he he.  Give peace a chance....quiet your mind.  Allow thoughts of others well being to fill your heart.....quiet your mind....open your heart....then you will know what is the right thing to do/post and where and when....listen to your heart.  Good luck and best wishes.

I would tend to agree with Ric's post here and he kind of put into words what I was thinking.  I have no doubt that Alex's talent and creativity are beyond reproach, but he has a condescending way about putting down just about every product out there other than his own.  I believe there are many different approaches to achieving good sound and we are very lucky to have a lot of talented people on this site to know how to get us there, Ric and Kevin included.  It would be quite a boring world if everyone had an APL system.

Jeez... I spend a few days buried in my mad scientist laboratory, without time to read the internet, and my thread was hijacked into a marketing advertisement for a competitor!  I didn't even notice until a friend tipped me off.  Thanks to Rick and Horsehead for injecting a little bit of reality to what happened.  I'll have to post another thread on my forum, where there is a little bit more control.

Cheers,
Kevin

Like I said before, this was probably all my fault and I do apologise Kevin!  Simply failed to use the grey cells entirely I'm afraid.

Ric,

Any time you make the same comments about my products without any reasonable base, I would post even on your own forum what I really think. I believe it is my right.

I am sorry if that bothers many, but is an eye opener for others. I don't really have to advertise my products, as they are advertising on their own.

I am not trying to make people believe, they will believe the moment they hear it. So far it works!

"Allow thoughts of others well being to fill your heart.....quiet your mind....open your heart....then you will know what is the right thing to do/post and where and when....listen to your heart."

That is exactly what I do Ric...:) Sorry to say but I hate politics...:)

Best of wishes to you too! I really respect you work and will always recommend it as I did in the past - and get real on the BB DACs....:) Just kidding!...:)

Regards,

theborg

If I could just make a comment. There are 25 or 30 audio manufacturers with circles on this board. As far as I know, this is unique, and in order for it to work, you guys (the manufacturers) have to agree to basically get along. My job is to keep this site alive, and sometimes that means being judge, jury and executioner. Everybody likes it better when things get sorted out without my "help."

Thanks

Alex,
You are certainly a good politician....heck you wiggle out of most of these confrontations just like a good old boy.  Why do you think that many people find your style tactless, arrogant, aggressive and righteous?  Could it have something to do with you?  These descriptive words came directly from customers/fellow modders/manufacturer friends of mine after reading your posts and without me saying anthing or mentioning you......They go "what's with this Alex guy, he is so ......."  You really just don't seem to care who you hurt or what is going on as long as you can tell your "truth" over and over and over and over and over.  Don't you ever get tired of your "story"?  The only story that is eternal is the story of Love.  This is what you will be remembered for when you die.  Not that you made the best player in the world!  Your soul is eternal....Crystal DACs will soon be a thing of the past.  Please don't sell your soul for a reputation or fame.
