Hi Everyone,
My name is Rob, I am new to the forum, and I recently joined when I was researching and finally ordered a bdp-1. The feedback forum was helpful in the decision Thanks to all that were posting there. Great discussions.
I had 2 questions:
My first question pertains to Minion MDP client: I was sucessful in setting up the "mancave" sic version of the BDP-1 that James spoke about. I am using windows 7 and firefox with minion. Has anyone solved the album art path yet? The BDP-1 is the first linux box I have ever touched.
Once set up and working, I tried browsing to the bdp-1 in windows finding it as a local networked item, I did find the Bryston-bdp-1 but when I try to open it up it prompts for a password. So this way of getting the path was unsucessful. (does anyone know if this password is on the BDP or the router? )
Wikki had some suggestions...
The following is how I ripped the flacs:
[IFVALUE]album artist,album artist],[IFCOMP]Various Artists[][IF!COMP][artist][][]\[album]\[track] [artist] - [title]
So I tried this in the custom album art box in Minion:
File:/usb/My_Passport/Flac Rips/[IFVALUE]album artist,{album artist},[IFCOMP]Various Artists{}[IF!COMP][artist]{}{}/[album]/Folder.jpg Where folder is the name of the jpeg in each album folder / directory
Also played around with ftp and http as suggested on the minion wiki with just about every combination of {path} {album} {artist} etc... :
• file:///mnt/music/.covers/{Artist}_{Album}.jpg - Linux mounted share.
• file://M:/music/.covers/{Artist}_{Album}.jpg - Windows share mounted as M:\
•
ftp://192.168.1.2/.covers/{Artist}_{Album}.jpg - Ftp server.
•
http://192.168.1.2/.covers/{Artist}_{Album}.jpg - Web server.
But to no avail. Its not a big thing but it would sure be nice to get the album art going.
The second question and sorry for cross posting if it is, but I have searched once and came across a post where someone posted a reference to an inexpensive 8" (i think ) android alternative to the IPAD. I have no real other use for an Ipad and would like to keep some $$ in my pocket. Search as I may cant find that post. I think it was on here...?
Cheers
Rob
