I'm selling my new, nearly plug and play "deluxe"
CDA-254 kit from Class D Audio. I call it deluxe because it comes with the following:
-
Class D CDA-254L kit - jtwrace's aluminum case
-
Cryo-Parts RCA inputs-
Cryo-Parts binding posts- Neutrik XLR connectors (would need to get the balanced amp to take full advantage of such a set-up)
-
Furutech IEC from Cryo-Parts- Fuse holder and power switch from Radio Shack
This is UNWIRED and UNUSED. I just put all the connectors and boards into the case. It looks exactly like the one in the pics below (but with the addition of the XLR inputs):

With a little wiring (of your choice) and minimal soldering, you can have this up and running in a jiffy. One bottom edge of the faceplate on the case is
slightly bent. It isn't bad at all. You could probably contact jtwrace and source a different faceplate, if wanted. The case has been in the box it came in until tonight, so it didn't get bent/dropped with the amp and PS in it.
Here are the specs on the amp:
- Output: 250 X 2 - 4 Ohm, 125 X 2 - 8 Ohm
- Bridged Output: 500W X 1 - Bridged 8 Ohm (Full Bridge)
- THD+N, 1W - 1KHz: Better than .02%
- Dynamic Range: 101 db
- Efficiency: Over 90%
- Required Power Supply: +/- 40 Volts DC to +/- 55 Volts DC
As you can see, you can set it up in bridged mode. You can also buy another identical board and put it in the case (has all the punchouts for multiple configurations). As such, you can run 2 boards in bridged mode for an uber-stereo amp, or with a little drilling, make this into a 4-channel amp.
It sounds great. I have and will continue to use a set-up just like this. If you somehow missed it, check out the
huge thread on the amps here:
http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=76400.0All of this cost me over $500 new. With this, you can save the hassle and cost of sourcing all the parts. I'm asking $450 shipped to the lower 48. Get it fast, before I change my mind. Remember, this kit is UNUSED. Again, I am running an identical set-up to power my mains and it sounds
sweet!
Thank you for your consideration,
Paul
