Measuring multiple speaker arrangements with DEQX
« on: 21 Dec 2010, 06:30 pm »
Hi
This isn't a question for OB only but I figured some of the DEQX expert may be around here.
I am asking about the speaker correction, not the room correction.
What is the recommended method of measuring multiple or an array of drivers?

Looks like you normally do speaker correction by measuring a single driver very close but I assume you need to back off to 1m at least in measuring multiple speakers to get them to "blend"?

Or do you measure only one to get the actual individual driver response and then apply to the entire line? (I could unwire all but one driver for example).

Do you take averaged readings moving up and down the line of drivers? Do you approximate the acoustic center and measure from one location?

Your wisdom appreciated!!

I think the best thing would be to email Alan Langford at DEQX.
alangford(at)deqx.
