I built a couple of the clone FirstWatt F4's a couple of years ago and documented them here on Audiocircle.  I'm no longer using them as I've gone to tubes these days, so I've decided to offer them to someone who can use them.  Audioclyde already bought one and has the other one available in Tulsa OK to ship from there. The pictures in my gallery show dual mono power supplies in each one.  I eventually settled on a single power supply (1 Plitron, 1 cap board, 2 bridge rectifiers) for each monoblock so they aren't quite like the pictures, but otherwise the same amps.  The chassis is as you see it - fairly crude metal work, but functional and stout in every way.  I used the best parts I could find (PRP, Conrad, Plitron, Panasonic FC and TSHA power supply caps, Cardas CPBP, Vampire RCA jacks) though there simply aren't that many in the amp to begin with.  Simple is better

Please note that these do NOT have any gain and require a preamp that can swing about 20 volts to get full output (i.e. a good tube pre).  I used Aikido, Bryston BP26, Atma-Sphere MLS-1, and DIYAudio Pumpkin quite successfully.  Audioclyde is using his on the output of an SET amp for more oomph.  Unconventional, but the F4 has a lot of flexibility and it works quite nicely as I understand it.

I am looking for $550 plus shipping from Tulsa OK and Paypal, which is less than or equal to the parts cost, no labor.  There is no build for profit allowed per Nelson's wishes, so I'm just basically breaking even.

Overall, a great class A amp.

Thanks for looking and PM or email me with any questions.

Tom is too modest; I think the case work looks fine!

The amps sound great; I haven't got the chance to drive them solely with a pre yet, but I think this amp is a steal at the asking price!
