Lots of shows I missed and would have liked to see but the one I am still kicking myself over was Miles Davis's last show before he died. I live 20 minutes from the Keswick in Glenside PA. I was all set to get tickets and something came up causing me to say "oh well, we will just get tickets for next years show when he comes around again.

Well, Miles died within weeks or less of that final show at the Keswick and tickets for next year never came.

Without a doubt, Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway at the Shrine Auditorium in 1975!

I've seen high quality video of it, though.

I also had the pleasure of seeing 2 shows by the amazing Genesis cover band, Garden Wall, recreate the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway about 5 years ago in Hollywood. This was not any cover performance, though. They were authorized by Genesis, and had some of the original costumes, slides, and props!

Also John Coletrane at the Village Vanguard in 1961.

While I'm at it, how about Heifetz, Rubinstein, Piatigorsky piano trios?

The late 70s early 80s were great for me, Rush(2112), Frampton ,Ian Thomas, Bowie, Tubes, Yes .......the list goes on and on due to the large number of outdoor concerts up here in Canada at the time.
Seems the only large outdoor venues up here these days are Country......not my cup of tea.

The one I wish I would of seen....missed them twice.....Supertramp. All my friends that
went said they were outstanding.

Being a live, rock concert freak from the 70's and up to 1986, I've seen just about everybody and anybody who was popular during that time. Even a few I wished I have never seen! However, I never got to see one of my all time favorites, The Allman Brothers. Something always came up or or I wasn't willing to travel far to see them. The only other one I would have liked to see was Elvis. I am not a big fan but he was special.

Just a note: Had tickets for two Black Sabbath concerts in the early 70's that were cancelled, however got to see Ozzie on his own in '83. Surprisingly great concert.

I saw Hendrix in '68 but missed Cream that same year because they canceled out at the last minute.

Was fortunate enough to catch many folks from the late 60s to early 80s, but never had the opportunity to see Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, or any of the pre-Buckingham/Nicks configurations. That would probably be the top of the list. Have seen Peter since with his own group, but a shadow of his former self musically. Had to choose at one point between Cream & James Gang, went for the James Gang tickets, then they cancelled.  :(

...The English Beat opening for Talking Heads...Talking Heads opening for The English Beat...a Junior Walker and the All-Stars show, that from all reports, was absolutely amazing ( I later heard a tape pulled from the board and almost cried )...and last but certainly not least, Dead Can Dance on their farewell tour , had perfect tickets in a perfect venue, but work intervened...oh, double fudge!!!!...

Cheers

The half of Woodstock I don't remember, I was there in body but my mind was somewhere else. I thought it was sugar for my coffee.
