New (to me) LRC on the way
« on: 16 Nov 2010, 12:23 am »
I have a LRC on the way to perform center duties with my RM30's as the fronts. Most likely it will be mounted above my 63" Plasma while my assorted audio gear occupy the space below. Can't wait. Any suggestions or tips on setup? Sadly it will be driven by my mid level Yamaha HT receiver while the RM30's get the umph they need from a Parasound 1500a amp.

Brian,

Congratulations!! (and welcome to the VMPS Circle)

The LRC is a VERY GOOD speaker and will blend with your RM30s quite well.

If your going above the Plasma, make sure you have it securely attached since it is a pretty heavy speaker.

You will likely get better results if you are able to "angle" it toward your listening position.

Also if you place it on a shelf, it should be out far enough so that the front baffle of the LRC is a bit ahead of the shelf.

It is also best if it is slightly ahead of the plasma screen too if possible.

To achieve a significantly improved sound quality, place on your Christmas list an Emotiva multi-channel amp. I used to own the Parasound 1500a. From the proceeds of the sale of the Parasound, you can practically purchase a new Emotiva amp.
