I'm very happy with Morrow cables with my RM-30M.  I run SP-3 to the woofers and SP-2 to the mids & tweeters.

Hi Darac,

Aren't you in Europe?

I am an AudioQuest dealer and have a lot of success with the higher grade AQ cables, but you might also consider one of our BALLROOMATES/co-exhibitor supplying all the cable and wires in the VMPS SYSTEM in the Ballroom at The Show this January.

WyWires

I personally haven't tried them yet, but Brian has mentioned that he felt them exceptional with VMPS speakers.

Yes John, I am in Europe. We have authorized dealer for AQ.
Second question: Copper or silver ?

what do you dislike about the vdh?
what are you trying to achieve with "better" cables?

In this moment  I have bi-wire combination.
VDH CS122 on tbe bass, The Royal Jade Hybrid on midrange/high

Bass area has a volume, but lacks details. Middle are ok, but the High-field slightly subdued. I'd like a little more speed, detail, transparency

Not to get into the cable thing but I recently put in a set of AQ CV-8 speaker cables with the little battery packs, 72 volt. At the same time I changed out the interconnect to my power amp with a pair of AQ Columbia so it is hard to say which did what.

Despite all that has been written I was really amazed at the difference.  Soundstage depth really opened up and cymbal splashed became much more defined as did micro-dynamics.

Now, this was not with some RM30's, I wish it were, but I thought I would put in a plug for the AQ cables.

:)

I use two shotgun runs of Nordost Blue Heaven.  Works well for me.

Hi Darac,

I think conventional wisdom in cables is that detail, resolution, and transparency is improved with metals with higher conductivity like more pure coppers, silvers and higher silver content or silver coated.

Speed is actually a function of frequency (cycles per second = Hz) and cannot be improved without "raising" the pitch/frequency.

But the perception of a speedier response and sound is had by getting rid of muddy/wooliness by using the better metals and cable configs that send a cleaner voltage to the woofers and tweeters.

I've used quite a few on mine, and Clear Day Audio double shotguns on the mid/top end is magical. Silver cables, very detailed, yet natural and not at all bright or lean. I use very heavy guage OFC copper (Vertevarius) on the woofer section. You might try anti-cables on the woofers for a low cost approach.

Is it not because Certain tonal area louder?

For me I've believed larger guage cables allow for higher amplifier damping and tighter bass, so I've used heavy OFC copper on the bottom.
Anti-cables are large guage with a thin dielectric, and sound very tight and extended on the bottom end, for very little $. They are stiff, however, so they are not suited to my vmps system.
There is some theory that smaller guage wires have less skin effect and thus pass highs better than large wires, thus their use on the top.
It has also seemed to me that cables with a minimal dielectric properties, such as anti-cables and Clear Day, seem less colored.
I don't hear theories, but my current setup is very satisfying to me.

I had good success with VMPS RM30's and Empirical Audio Clarity 7. Totally devoid of any sibilance or funny business. :)

Today was purchased Audioquest Mont Blanc, yet I must settle for the jumper-cable bridge the bass and middle, for that purpose have Type 8 ..

Good choice. :thumb:

The Mont Blanc is a VERY well constructed Cable.
