and another (nice pictures)

My intuïtion who brought me to Aspen is equally reacting "warm" to these Bybees

Don't judge at all... but if you do, do it based on yr own experience"

john curl: "Bybees are real, Bybees work. Bybees are also deliberately designed to be as close to an ideal resistor as possible and to have little capacitance or inductance. This is important, and why a Bybee device will measure almost exactly like a .02 ohm resistor with conventional test equipment. However Bybee devices have been measured reducing noise with specialized test equipment"

John Curl should not need an introduction. But he is: John Curl is one of the most respected circuit designers of all time and the
creative genius behind Parasound’s high end audio and home theater
amplifiers. Since the mid 1970s he has left a trail of landmark hardware
across the industry ... the classic Mark Levinson JC-2, the SOTA head
amplifier, and his own Vendetta preamplifier.

At the same time JC has no affiliation (?right word?) with Bybees at all.

John is a friend of Jacks. In the only encounter I ever had with John he was an asshole. He did apologise for it though. Nothing I know of that John has designed alone is better than mid-fi.

But what do I care what you spend your money on.

Well. .
I see you have no problem in judging..

there are more than JC alone who hear the Bybees do work.

I am convinced it is no "snake oil" , but want to invite people who have actually heard them preferably or heard first hand from those who have. Other wise we will just copy the endless and less than fruitfull debates between two camps of believers.. The modernists against the post modernists..

Read a few review about it last year over Mad forum. Interestingly, only 20% of the reviewer can hear an improvement.
I have not tired it myself but if I got the money, I rather spend on blackgate cap.

You are right
First I would spend my money on things I am very sure about. BG caps are one of them, ultra fast "Jung voltage regulators" another (?). But what is next and if there are rumours? I would like to try one, in trying I want to be very very open minded.

Why is this in the AKSA forum?

The effects or non-effects of Bybee's are already being discussed in the Lab.  This subject has been beaten to death.

John Curl and Jack Bybee should answer this and not speculative audiphools.

The beginning of this thread sounds like marketing anyway.

Please let this die before it starts.... or just start these kinds of posts where they'll end up: Fight Club or IGWB.

Hi Kyrill,

Thank you for your post on Bybee purifiers.

I have not tried them;  nor do I know anyone here in Australia who has.

However, that is not to say they do not work.  Jack Bybee is no fool and I assume there is some scientific basis to his claims.

Sadly, then, and in the interests of an open mind, I cannot advise you.

However, I can say that Black Gate caps are very good, and particularly low noise.  But then Nichicon Muse are very good too, though not so quiet, and about five times cheaper!

Cheers,

Hugh
