A friend loaned me his EMM DCC2 and Empirical Audio Offramp Turbo 2 for a comparison to my dB Audio Labs Tranquility DAC. I have all of the various settings on the Mac and in Pure Music Preferences identically set in both setups. But I cannot get sound out of EMM/Offramp combination. It's entirely possible that there is more than a little pilot error involved here but I'll be darned if I can figure out what.

I am currently using successfully:
Mac Mini with iTunes/Pure Music USB ----> dB Audio Labs Tranquility USB DAC ----> preamp

With identical settings (both hardware and software) I cannot get sound via:
Mac Mini with iTunes/Pure Music USB ----> Offramp Turbo 2 ----> Coax to EMM ----> preamp (via Preamp Analog Outputs from EMM)

Any ideas?

Case closed.  I'm a dumbaxx.  Who would have thought I needed to use the Analog Line Output rather than the Analog Preamp Output if I'm going to a preamp?  Anyway, that was the issue regarding no sound.

how does emm sounds? i heard they made one of the best cd player. i heard them for 1 hour in the shop, no comparison to others. but it does sound solid.
