Stratos Monos...kicking on an off...

All you Stratos Mono owners out there, have any of your experienced them kicking in/out or sounding distorted, though intermidenly or now and then? One of my mono, once in awhile, while its on, all of the sudden the music would be distorted, or the amp would click off and back on...
etc...
has anyone had this problem?
I talked to Klaus and he said to send it in, but being in california, that would be $100 just in shipping costs, let a lone anything else
Klaus thinks it might be the board, but just wondering if anyone else experienced this with their Stratos.

Ehy Sonny,

Sorry to hear about your problem. Shipping costs hurt but your still ahead of the game. Your bang for the buck is huge on your initial purchase. Chances are your problem will be covered under the warranty. Take advantage of the exteme upgrade and turn this unfortunate situation into a possitive oppertunity.

Pirate, that is true, but for both amps, that's $200...
and plus, Klaus is unsure about the problem...I mean if it doesn't happen to him how will he know what to fix? So do you have the extreme version?

What did you think of the performance before and after if you do have the extreme version?

Just out of curiousity, did you switch IC's from one amp to the other to rule out a partially shorted IC?

Not that that "should" cause the amp to trun off, but you never know.

Well, yes, I've done that...and I've checked the i/c's too and it all looks good...I had the amp on the left and now its on the right, it did it both sides...but right now, its flawless as I listen to the Conga Kings...on Chesky SACD...
