Alex Peychev of APL is an exceptional engineer with over 25 years of experience in audio design. His Phillips SACD 1000 mod. is considered the best digital front end available and that mod. cost $1850. He has had direct comparisons done on his Phillips SACD 1000 to most of the highly praised modded players and has come out on top. Clement Perry at Stereotimes is replacing his $15,000 digital front with APL's modded Phillips SACD 1000. The most astounding and best buy digital front will be released by APL in 4 weeks. APL will be releasing a Pioneer DV-563S modded player with a tubed output using 6H30 tubes and running dual DACs. Alex states the the Pioneer player has the most superior transport available, even superior to the Phillips SACD 1000's. He believes that this player may be superior to the Phillips modded player. All this for $1100 which includes the player. In fact, some of his customers with the Phillips player is thinking about replacing their players for the Pioneer. Yesterday five SACD 1000 players were bought within hours of being posted on audiogon and all of those players were sent to APL for mods. If the Pioneer player surpasses the Phillips at less than half the cost, audio consumers would have an oppurtunity to purchase one the best digital front ends available for $1100. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
