Wiring Question

Hi John and all,
you have said on this forum "For copper tx102 based NOH's .........I use a braid of 4 wires (2 gnd and 2 hot) for input jack to input selector wiring and a single strand for the shorter misc internal wiring".
Have you found this to be "the best" combination or is it intuitive? I would have gone the "kimber route" with a single hot and double gnd as the TVC is single wire, but I am only guessing.
When you braid the Chimera Labs Wire ( which is bare) what insulation do you use/recommend?
thanks for ya great service and all ya help

Hello!
I first used the wire with that braid as an interconnect and since Denis at Chimera recomends the 4 wire braid I just continued to do that. I kinda like the idea of keeping hot and ground similar paths. I did not try a bunch of combo's but I find this braid to be better than just single strands.
The Chimera wire looks bare but it has a thin enamel coating on it just like the wires inside a tx103 or a tx102 transformer. No need to insulate it and you just tin the ends with a hot soldering iron or (better if you have it) slide the end into a desoldering tool and it just peels away the insulation.
Thansk!

Hey John, thanks, I didn't look close enough. What sort of braiding do you use--a proper 4 braid, or twist 2 hot, then twist with the 2 twisted gnd?

Hello!
I's a proper 4 braid. Goes pretty fast after you have done it a few times. Here is a link to his site with braid info:
