BP26 with Quad 99 power amp (?)
« on: 8 Oct 2010, 10:31 am »
Hi,

after 15 years living with Naim boxes, I've decided to convert to Bryston after I heard BP26 and 7BSST2. Although my speakers are not so power demanding, I decided to go for 3BSST2 next spring after I recover my funds from BP26 which I ordered yesterday.
Until next spring I plan to add to BP26 some reasonable and not expensive alternative power amp like Quad 99 which dealer is near me.

I would appreciate any thoughts and advice regarding this combo (possible impedance mismatch etc.) My goal is to have at least hi end touch if not a hi end sound until I acquire 3BSST2.

Thanks a lot,
Ozi

Hi Ozi

Welcome sir to Bryston :thumb:

There is no issue using the Quad amp with the BP26.  What dealer did you order from as I will try to speed it along for you.

 Hi, :)

thank you very much for reply.
I've placed an order at Audio Dream (Audio San), Croatian dealer Mr. Kostrevec, very nice and honest person.
I had a telephone conversation with him couple of minutes ago and he told me to ask you if you still have one older simple style remote to pop in the box as I told him that a new remote is over my budget at the moment.

Thank you very much, I cannot imagine better welcome.

Best,
Ozi

Hi Ozi,

I have a BP25 simple remote at home which I will send to you - it will work the BP26.  I have spoken with the distributor and he is aware that we will include it in the box for you when he orders the preamp.

Hi James,

I am speechless, thank you very much Sir, I really appreciate that.

My dealer called me this morning to tell me that too. We had also conversation about 3BSST2 which I would order I hope sooner than expected.
There are also plans for BDA, but I need to sell my current source as I promised to my wife that I would not have more than one digital source at the same time any more

It seems that Bryston units would help about raising the temperature in our home during upcoming winter  :xmas:

Best,
Oz
