For sale is a pair of Odyssey Kismets in Stratos cases that Klaus built for me in November of 2009; leaving 19 YEARS out of 20 on the warranty.

Both of the amplifiers are upgraded with kismet power supplies, special capacitors Klaus imports from Germany specifically for him, WBT PLATINUM binding posts, and come with the upgraded Groenberg powercords for each.

Front finish is brushed aluminum. Audiogon rated a 7/10 because of one blemish on the corner of the faceplate on the left monoblock.

Selling because I got a great deal on one of my gear-lusted dream amplifiers.

Very true. I have seen these on audiogon listed for 800-1K more without shipping or paypal fees taken. These are great amplifiers that someone could live many many years with. I got a good deal on a Pass 250.5 which is why I am selling them, otherwise they would still be mine. There is nothing to say that the Pass will even be an upgrade, I just have lusted for it for a while now and wanted to own one.

I wasn't really looking at Kismet, but at this price, I want to LEARN! What is really the difference over normal Stratos (or Extremes)? Do these have the dual transformers in each? Same capacitance? Just better parts?

I sent you a PM, and much of this is explained.

Kismet is the upgraded version of the Stratos Extreme amplifiers.

I believe Klaus has done this in both configurations with two transformers or one. This particular version has one transformer, but has the same capacitance as the Stratos Extreme.

It uses better parts, and for the small loss in watts per channel, you get better sound quality.

Klaus said that the new kismet power supply was much quicker then the one used in the Stratos. Transients and dynamics on these amplifiers are excellent.
