I've been looking for a good pair of mid size floor standing speakers for my 2 channel only audio setup.  I had been using Polk LSI 15's for a number of years, and while they are a fine speaker, it was time for a change.

Getting speakers is the hardest part of this hobby.  The electronics are generally pretty straightforward to work out what one's preferences tend to, but speakers is a whole different matter entirely.

The room acoustics, interaction with the listening environment, the type of amp one chooses to use, all make a HUGE difference with the sound in your intended listening area. As I get more into this hobby, people like Ethen whose job it is to work all that out are invaluable towards achieving sonic nirvana.

I auditioned a number of speakers, and found that I was getting very picky about what was considered an improvement over the Polks.   Most of the speakers I listened to left something out of the picture, and while they were better in some areas, they fell short in others.

However, the 277SE's wound up fitting the bill rather nicely. They outperformed a lot of other speakers that cost somewhat more.  The image, depth, and clairty are outstanding, and are a big step up from the LSI's. They are made by the same person who was behind the JSE line of speakers.

Was wondering if anyone else here has heard them, and if so, what are the impressions?  I REALLY like these.

How much you paid for them?

Roughly 35% of MSRP.  They are only a few months old, and come with the balance of the warranty.

Very happy with them.
