WT Ref: Cartridge Set Up and Anti Skate Issues
« on: 12 Dec 2011, 10:08 pm »
Hello Circle,
I am wrestling with cartridge set up and an anti skate problem.  I am looking for recommendations for a protractor, more precise than the plastic one that comes with the table.  I have heard good things about the Mint product.  My most vexing prob. is trying to reduce the anti skate force.  Currently with my anti skate at the minimum setting, I still have too much anti skate.  I understand that it is possible to make some kind of adjustment to the plastic paddle in the tone arm silicone well to reduce the amount of "twist" force applied to the monofilament, but I cannot find here or elsewhere the details on how to do this.  Any suggestions or referals appreciated.

Circle,
As an addendum to my earlier post, I have also noted per j beede's thread that the rotation of the arm base will affect the amount of anti skate force, but if I understand correctly this rotation is determined in setting the cartridge overhang.
