Humming noise from HT setup
« on: 21 Sep 2010, 02:50 pm »
The background is so noisy when I turn on the AVR. Using the same speakers and speaker cables for audio and no background noise. So I narrow down to interconnect, changed a few pairs and still noisy. Any experienced Denon avr owner had this problem before?

Sounds like maybe a grounding problem with the video portion of the system.  Check the grounding on the cable/satellite.

^^What he said.

9.9/10 it is the cable TV line that is causing the issue.

If you do not have a Cable TV line, then what are the other components?

If it is cable or an antenna problem, Parts Express sells an inline (F connector) eliminator for $9+

Yea, don't be too quick to blame Denon.
Try using an extension cord on the AVR to an outlet that falls on the other leg of your breaker box. Try other components too, one by one. That should give a good starting point. Hum is rarely a "fault", or component failure.
