ipod classic won't play

I got my fat ass motivated to go to the gym today and the damn ipod wouldn't play. It does everything else - I can go through all the menus and settings, but it just won't play.  I have the 160gig classic.  It's less than a year old and hasn't been abused.  Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Try resetting it by holding the menu and select buttons for several seconds.

Mine is the previous version but I believe they will be the same n this regard.  Try rebooting your unit by holding down the menu (top) and select (middle) at the same time for about 10 seconds, it should reboot and start back up.
