New Fostex T-5 Headphones
« on: 4 Sep 2010, 04:59 pm »
Just picked up a set off of eBay new.  Got them pretty cheap.  I had been wanting to pick up a pair of Fostexes for some time.  They are the entry level but sound very good.  I was listening to Goldfrapp's Black Cherry album on my ipod and was amazed that it could image all the digital crap they throw into their songs.  Deep sonic bass, super high 12000+ sounds, square waves of digital noise and soft voice and strings occasionally.  Most headphones that I have listened too cannot do all those at the same time without sacrificing somewhere.  These handle it all well.  Has anyone listened to these headphones or listened to Goldfrapp Black Cherry, esp. Tip Toe, with their headphones and know what I am talking about?

Man, Bo, those look nice and industrial!  No experience, but I need to pick up Black Cherry to do some listening.  Sounds pretty interesting.

Goldfrapp is the band and Black Cherry is that particular album.  Strict machine is their popular one from that album.  Check out their videos on YouTube.

The T-5's are listed as being good for monitor/studio work.  If I make it to one of the fall events I can bring them along.  I also need sell a bunch of albums.  Would it be ok to bring a milk crate or two?

Sure bring the Fostex cans along. Love to hear them.  And the records, too.  I don't have much room for more vinyl, but I sure would like to see what you bring.  If all else fails, you'll have a good batch of new music to spin on the tables.  I'll check out Strict Machine soon.

I think bringing lps to get togethers is a great idea. Could do a kind of sale, swap, barter thing. You know that GAS has many vinyl vampires, I'm sure we all have lots of stuff to exchange.
