Well,I do love the PMC sound but what is going on with these minor little money grabbing changes!!First a tweeter,I mean you cannot get a cheaper part of a speaker to replace......I was wrong,a capacitor or resistor or inductor??? It bothers me that Peter plays with the minds of the consumer range,but not the pro boys,hell the IB1 hasn't changed in ,well,umm??
They should work on a EB2 or a MB2 floorstander(they could call it a HB2(huge box))although I am sure the implication of a volt mid in the EB1 would change the price from $16,000 to $21,000.Well good luck to anyone who gets Pete's signature.

The escalating price of PMC speakers has been a recurring theme on this circle over the past 2 years or so.  The most effective way to stop the increases is just don't buy them or if you do insist on a 25% discount or go elsewhere.  It can be done.  For example I have a Harmon International dealer nearby who sells the entire Revel and JBL line at 25% off list.  He carries B & W's entire line at that discount as well.  It appears alot of posters don't see the value in the PMC's or there would be fewer complaints about the prices.  I don't know about you but I think a pair of Revel Ultima2 Salons would stack up nicely against the EB1's at the same price.   Or how about B&W 802D's at $5K less.

I really like my PMC speakers, and was able to pick them up at a good discount at my local dealer. Otherwise there was no way I would own these. The things I do not like are:

The resale prices seem really low(not that I want to sell mine)

The customer service in Canada for warranty work is really really bad(from experience, and still not resolved after 4 months) .

I own PMC OB1i. Spent over an year and a half to find a second hand one and ended with an order for a new pair from a dealer in UK. I live some 2000 miles away. Most people don't know about this speakers. Those ones who know and own ones don't like to sell them unless a new series come out. It happened that I auditioned Wilson Audio Alexandra after I got my PMC. I left with the filling that I had lost my hearing. The price for Wilson Audio was 100k$. As for B & W I auditioned 804 or 803 in Luxembourg with Musical Fidelity high series. Nothing intrigued. Sorry. That was the moment I decided that I will stick to Bryston and PMC audio gear. As for Signature series it is good to have something unique and the price difference is reasonably small a hundred GBP.

As with the big "H", it is by invitation only.  You can't just walk-in and buy one like a PMC.
