A few Super V questions
« on: 26 Aug 2010, 04:07 pm »
Interested in this speaker as a possible future project.  I've read a few long threads here but didn't get a few questions answered.  (I may have missed something.)

- What is/are the best source(s) for cabinet kits?

- What are the xover points, especially bass-to-mid?

- What is the sensitivity of the bass drivers?  (I understand they are actively driven - high-sensitivity bass would blend more seamlessly especially in dynamic behavior with the HE coax driver which is why I'm asking.)

TIA!

1) Update It sounds like I will have some of these flat packs shipped to me by Sept. 2nd. They are all CNC cut and just like these: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=73341.0

I'll let you know the price as soon as I know exactly what it is.

Also Elemental Designs has cut some for several customers already.

2) Crossover points are just below 200Hz and 1kHz.

3) Sensitivity of the subs makes no difference at all. I typically have the amp turned about half way up to about a 1 or 2 o'clock setting to equal the output of the upper driver. So there is headroom left over. Technically the two of them in parallel is 90.7db per one watt. It is seamless and flat to 20Hz.  :thumb:
