JBL has a very interesting satellite speaker design called the 'Control Now'.  It's in the shape of a 1/4 donut and is designed for placement in a variety of locations but specifically in corners and appears to be voiced appropriately. Anyway, apparently they didn't fly and are being closed out, but the black version is available at Costco for $60 per speaker (original price $250 per speaker).  I ordered a pair of the white online and have them setup in my desktop system and they are sounding very good - so much so that I also got a pair of the black ones at Costco, so if you have a difficult placement problem these may be worth a serious look.

So far, it appears that the black ones are the "Control Now" indoor models and the white ones are the "Control Now AW" weather-resistant outdoor version.

These are probably store-only at Costco - sorry for not being more specific. There is typically not significant overlap between what is in the stores and what is on the website.


srb is correct - the white versions are designated 'AW' for all-weather, but I haven't actually been able to determine what the differences actually are - whether it's just the finish on the exterior or whether the drivers are treated.

Man, those are interesting looking. 4 per side circular, wired series/parallel, should be a net 8 ohm, and I think with my quick math 96db sensitivity, omnidirectinal, could be interesting, could sound like crap someone try!  Hmm where's my local costco...

4 in a circle, hung by the pole mount might be an interesting way to infuse music into a restaurant, bar, coffee shop or gallery.
