I am listening to my SCS4/Bryston combo and it sounds great. But the Current MSRP $3,690 for these new speakers does not make sense to me.

The $2380/pair is for the SCS4.  The SCS4T which is the same speaker in a floor standing cabinet is $3690.  I agree that the pricing seems out of line.

No I have not heard that particular Thiel model so I should probably keep my mount shut.  However, I am a big fan of Thiel speakers.  The larger inner cavity compared to the SCS4 probably results in a different sound.  My price comment was based on the fact that the only difference from a manufacturing standpoint is a larger wood box.  I suppose that a $200 cost increase at the factory could easily translate to $1000 plus in MSRP.

I have not even heard the SCS4 yet (I have three SCS2s on the front channels of the bedroom system), but based on what the 1.6s went for, it does seem a drop high.  It seems the price of the (Thiel) entry level floorstanders over time has gone up considerably

I think the price seems a little high. I have not heard the SCS4T but I know that I would not have paid that price for the SCS4. At $995 each, I thought they were an excellent bang for the buck.

I am waiting to buy the CS 3.7 when I move to a bigger place. I hope the good reviews of that speaker doesn't cause too large of a price increase. I thought we were in a deflationary period?
