Well, you, like Anonamerat appear as if you have nothing better to do. The proof is in your posts.

rob80b, thank you for your informative posts.
I had the chance to compare the BP25 with the BP 26 and stayed with my 25 for the 26 treble sounded a tad too present for my taste. Perhaps the unit needed more time to open up. I had a discussion with James about this and he stated the 26 was a 25 under a new shell and with minor adjustements, an evolution more than a revolution. I suspect that some incremental change might have been targeting low sensitivity HF drivers. However I kept the MPS-2 as it provided unflinching power to the unit. I do not pretend this was as rigourous, scientific test as it can be but that's my experience. 8)

For those who cannot afford a BP25/26 nor need the extra connectivity.
The BP26 is a BP25 but with the implementaion of a beefier external power supply to power additional devices, I believe there were also a few changes in some components, which is common for Bryston as they will implement a better componet in the circuit as  they become availabe.

Although we've strayed a bit from the OP's original inquiry, I had been tempted to try the MPS-2 with the BP25, I've read somewhere but cannot track down the source that the MPS-2 was more or less just housing four individual power supplies similar to the MPS-1 so I did not see the benefit.
Maybe James can chime in on that one.

The mps2 is more relaxed but seems to also rock out way better. Its twice the power supply as the mps1. I owned both, at the same time, for years.....lol

Hi Werd

It's the one you had for sale awhile back which was the temptation. :D

So the mps-2 has greater current?

I was goin to lend it to you if the guy who was interested in it  hadnt bought it.  He bought my bp25 a week later too..... Go get the mps2  or go get a Torus. The Torus shrinks the gap between the two power supplies significantly.  I do think the mps2 is just a better bandaid for lousy outlet voltage than the mps1.

Yes its just a better interface between the wall and preamp. I would say it stores more energy.
