What restrictions are you working with in terms of placing treatments?  The walls all look pretty well full to me.

What issues are you trying to address?  Imaging?  Bass control?  Reflections?  E - all of the above?

pretty much all of the above.  My goal would be to improve imaging and detail.  Bass does not load up to bad, but from my understanding most rooms can benefit from bass traps. The walls are full but, i can rearrange some if needed.  This is a living/family room so Wife Acceptance Factor will play a part as well.

Sounds good.

The first 2 things I notice is the center channel being back too far and the table.  The face of the center should be in front of the lip of the ledge if at all possible.

The table is a killer for imaging unfortunately.  Lots of reflections off that top and very close in time to the main signal.

Is this something where you'd potentially want to have movable treatments that could be put in place for serious listening and then stored away for the rest of the time?  Thinking specifically about in front of the fireplace.

http://realtraps.com/videos.htm

The videos there are extremely enlightening. Especially the one titled "Hearing is believing: ultimate small mixing and mastering room" - in that one you are given a demonstration of a room both untreated and treated. It's quite amazing. Then after you watch those they also have great technical articles and also diy info. Then visit Gearslutz.com and visit the the room treatment subforums. You're all set now.

My room is going to look very similar to what they have going on.

For starters try removing the table for a day and move the speakers out into the room a few feet.  Listen to a few cds.  If you like what that is doing get some movable panels for the front of the fireplace and first reflection points left and right.

First you have to get your wife to realize that the speakers are not pedestals for putting stuff on.  :icon_lol: They are supposed to be the focal point of the room (just kidding).

Really though, pull them well out into the room and play with the placement. Find what works and then figure out a way to make it look nice enough for a living room.

Same goes for treatment. Just as already mentioned. You might have to make you some tube traps that you can set up or move around easily.

I wouldn't mind setting up a few movable treatments.  Maybe a combination of some fixed wall treatments and a coouple of moveable ones. I just don't want to spend all my time setting up and taking down.  Any  suggestiions in front of the fireplace? What about the table?  Could I cover it with something or do i need to move it for listening.  Also, what should I do with the walls?  Thanks y'all for all the help.

You should see it around Christmas time. I can't even find my speakers.
