My VMPS New Original/Larger Sub kits
« on: 20 Jul 2010, 09:50 pm »
My VMPS New Original/Larger Sub kits have arrived!

4 boxes were delivered yesterday, and today I was able to get everything unpacked and checked.

The 2 New Larger cabinets weighed 95lbs in the box. There was 1 box with the 2 12" Megawoofers (I got the last 2 with the carbon fiber cones).

UPS managed to break something in the last box - 1 of the bases was split along the grain right in the middle of the longest member. Brian is sending me a new one out tomorrow.

Unfortunartely I have been very busy the last couple of days and will have no time to do much until tomorrow night late, or Thursday. Probably by the weekend I will be able to really set things up in my system.

I will post some pictures and describe the kits as I have time   8)

Time for some pics -

Here are the boxes and how things were packed

The two biggest boxes weighed 95 lbs!

Parts came in this box

Megawoofers were packed like this

A peek at the cabinet

To unpack the cabinets, I opened the top and carefully flipped them over, then slid the box off.

Cabinets are in kit form so I need to assemble them

A sampling of the parts I need to solder, glue and screw

UPS broke this base

But this one made it intact

These tools are necessary when dealing with fiberglass!

And the fiberglass of each cabinet is stored in a big bag while I work on the binding posts.
