Bryston 4B NRB? See the Ad for the info
« on: 1 Dec 2010, 02:05 pm »
Here is an odd find. This one is a Bryston 4B made for a company called Sonics. They built the sound systems for the Omnimax movie theaters. This is a full on 4B except for the input stage which is wired as stereo via the RCA inputs and mono via the XLR input. It also has a super high volume ( air and noise ) fan that has been disabled. The fan is not needed in ANY sort of home environment as the amp is colled properly via convection as are all 4Bs. Same specs as a normal 4B. Dual toroids in the power supply, lots of storage in the power supply as well. The front panel has a power on light for each channel plus a variable signal light and overload light as well.
Please see the photos for the cosmetic condition. The PO painted the top and rear panel and did not let the paint dry all the way before putting in the screws. They flaked a tiny bit at the edges when I opened it for photos. Some black enamel made things a lot better. This unit is living room friendly but not perfect.
Essentially this amp is a Bryston 4B NRB that can be mono configured to a 7B. 4bs average in the $1000.00 area so the asking price of $575.00 reflects the OEM and cosmetic nature of this amp. I will answer any pertinent questions.

$575.00 located in Atlanta

This is a used amplifier and carries NO warranty of any kind. It will not arrive DOA because it works.

Local pick up is OK. If you are local to the Atlanta I will even bring them to you.

The amp will weigh in at 50 lbs double boxed. Original packing is not included but it will be packed and boxed for safe shipping.

Paypal users will pay the 2.9% fees they charge me. I much prefer MO or checks ( after they clear).
