Relatively cheap isolation that worked for me.

Ok, I know this has been covered in stickies, etc, but thought I'd put this up for those who've been following my return to the big disk.

As some of you know, while I was diggin' the analogue sound for the most, I was having the usual problems w/ low end feedback. (not footfalls, however)

Mostly solved by purchasing a 2" maple plank and Isoblocks from Mapleshade. Remember, the isoblocks go UNDER the plank. This alone worked pretty well on top of my DIY Flexi rack. Last night I put 3 Mapleshade triple point cones under the deck, and wow, big improvement. I can now crank the subs up to a very grin inducing level!  :D

However, I hate trying to balance anything on the these cones. I think I'd rather have a root canal! Eventually, I'll order the cones w/ screws to replace the stock Rega feet.

I got the unfinished maple plank, which still looks pretty nice and the isoblocks for around $85. I already had the points, but new ones will be around $120. I might go ahead, when I have the cash, and get another 2" plank and double up.

Considering the cost of some iso devices, I think the Mapleshade stuff is a smoking deal.

So in summary, you can get very good isolation for $220 or so. Mapleshade might be the king of all hype, but these items work as advertised.....at least they did for me.

cheers to all
