Is there a nuforce high end DAC in the works

Jason
are there plans for a high end DAC? I have been looking around at DACs in the $2-$3 K range and wish Nuforce would come out with a great DAC

DAC-9 prototype is being evaluated this week. It will take us at least 2 to 3 weeks to tune it. If all goes well, we can go into production and have DAC-9 ready before end of April.

Thanks for the response and I look forward to the release. This is one area I think I can improve my sound and will give a hard look at the DAC-9. I assume it will be near the Nuforce version of the oppo player specs? Or will it be better?

We have explained here in Audiocircle and other forums that Oppo BDP83 Nuforce or SE, they are not a DAC.  The design specifications are completely different.

In a DAC, we have to look at data (SPDIF input) acquisition and processing.  In a player such as Oppo or CDP, we are not dealing with data acquisition, but playing back stored data which are deterministic.

Also, Oppo's output stage must handle everything under the sun from Redbook CD to DSD SACD, while CDP only deals with 16-bit, and the DAC only deals with pure PCM 16-24bit.

In a high end DAC, the strategy is that it would have to deal with rejecting or becoming immunized to the incoming data jitter, and a lot of effort is focusing on this section of the circuit.  While for a pure player, such circuit is not necessary.

David C,

Since we decided to add several new features due to distributors' requests, which include:

Analog volume control via remote
Headphone output
USB Support up to 192kHz

...the release date is currently around August - September.  We are in the layout stage of the revised circuit.

thanks for the reply. I will hold off on my DAC purchase until Nuforce DAC is out. I really love my V3's and P9

This is the only way to do it!  Cut the preamp out.   PS Audio is doing some nice things now, i think Nuforce can do the same thing.
