Hey Guys,

Steve just gave me a call and said that Gene at the Record Exchange is running a 50% off sale indefinitely!

I don't know about you but I know where I'm headed in the morning!

I think Gene's just thinning down a bit. It will be nice to be able to walk down the aisles again!  :green:

Just got back and am spinning the first of about 20 or so albums I picked up. I found a few that I had been looking for, for some time. I picked upa few that wasn't on my radar at all loke a German pressing of Christopher Cross, Badfinger Straight Up and a Japanese pressing of Kenny Loggins High Adventure. Gotta love it for $4-$5 each.

I did drop some bucks on some stuff that I never would have bought unless the 50% off sale was in place. I made the mistake and wandered over to the Audiophile/Classical bins on the right. I ran across three or four Heifitz Living Stereo with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Crap are these things pricey but I figured it was now or never cuz I'd never pay sticker for these things. I got lucky and one of them was a 1S/1S (first pressing) and the other two were under 8S.

Sturg, sitting in the Recent Arrival bins on the left just inside the door are a TON of sealed reissues on Blue Note, Riverside, Impulse, Norgrin and several other labels. Granted he has them stickered at $16 but that still means you are paying $8 a pop for sealed jazz. That's a couple bucks cheaper than buying it from the Blue Note shop. Plus he has a bunch that are discontinued. I grabbed some Blue Mitchell, Clifford Jordan and Jackie McLean  :thumb:

Thanks for the tip Steve  :green:

You have to get down there and take advantage of the sale.  Here's what I picked up today for $31.00
Jethro Tull Minstrel in the Gallery
Lionel Richie Dancing on the Ceiling (sealed)  to burn for my neighbor's iPod
Aphrodite's Child 666  Sure wish it would have cost $13.32 so half price would have been....
Sibelius 4,5  Karajan and Berlin
Berg Lulu  4 record set featuring Teresa Stratas $6  and if you know "Lulu" then you know it's hasn't been played too often.
Offenbach La Belle Helene box set with Jessye Norman.  You probably don't know the opera, but I bet some of you would know the overture.
Bernstein Mass in pristine condition for $3

It was a great day down at Record Exchange.

P.S.  forgot to mention the orange colored 78 of Ukele Ike singing "Cheatin' on Me" and "I'll Buy the Ring and Change your Name To Mine"  :thumb:
