Even though it is rather last minute, I am happy to report that Dennis and I will be at the Capital Audiofest (Washington DC area) next weeke-end, June 11th, 12th and 13th.  Of course, we will bring the SoundScapes and SongTowers (traveling lighter this time around).  We will be in the Conservatory.

Here is a link to the show:

Hope to see a few of you there!

I'll be there with my camera.

Jim & Dennis - I'd be happy to go out to dinner with you one of the nights you are here.

The room should prove to be a challenge, but the pictures of your speakers in said room will be stunning, Jim!  I look forward to seeing them and hearing how the show goes.  Enjoy!

Maybe you can lay some of those absorption panels on the floor out in front of the seating.  Should be enough of them to cover the sides, center, and floor.

Awesome, I'll come on Saturday morning. I got to meet Dennis before I bought my HT1-TLs and now I'll get to meet Jim as well! What a treat.

What will be there? Soundscapes? SongBirds? Would help if I read first, but I plead jetlag.

What about amplification and source?

Can't wait!  :banana piano:

As mentioned above, we are trying to travel light, so we will bring SoundScapes and SongTowers this time around.

We'll have my AVA gear.  I'll have to see if Frank can get an Ultravalve there in time for the show.

Jim,

Do you have any idea what finish and tweeter the STs will have at the Capital Audiofest?

Thanks , Bill

If not, I can bring a couple of Ultimate 70's if you'd like. Also have an Insight 170 and Insight+ DAC.

Hi Jim,

I can send you an Ultravalve vacuum tube amplifier and a Vision DAC/Preamp combo unit to drive it and the Songtowers on Monday.

I can ship Monday via UPS 2 Day.  Where should I ship them to?

You and I both know how important it will be to let as many people as possible hear the dream combination of the Songtowers and Ultravalve.  Everyone else will know that soon too.

Best regards,

Frank Van Alstine

P.S. For Dennis - -  How is the Insight+ Double 250 treating you?  Since the show is in Washington, I suggest you bring them (the amp and the Insight+ Pat-4) along as backups for Jim, as long as nobody minds that they are not quite as pretty as Jim's speakers.  :)

Hey Frank,

Which version if the Song Towers, the dome, or the ribbon tweeter, do you feel is the better match with the Ultravalve? Or is the magic there equally for both?

Thanks,
Ron

The Ultravalve amplifier works super great with either the dome model or the ribbon tweeter model of the Songtowers.  It also drives the HT2TLs just fine at rational levels.

I have the ribbon tweeter Songtowers, and have a set of HT2TLs on order. I have a set of HT3s too. A pair of Ultravalve amps with our Insight+ bridge does wonders for these big speakers too.
