I have noticed that Brston equipment rear panel RCA jacks are smaller in diameter than any other company's RCA jacks I have ever used.
Is there a reason for this?
Most of my cables need to be crimped down with pliers to get them to be snug on Bryston gear RCA.

Elizabeth makes a good point. Although I sense that the RCA's on a number of Bryston components I have owned seem slightly smaller, I've never had to crimp my RCAs- tried once and found it very difficult to do properly.

But the size of RCAs on cables and equipment seem to vary fairly significantly in my experience. I became so frustrated with the situation that I now use only locking RCA's of excellent quality ( Silver Sonic Air Matrix with Ultimate RCA's) and a 1 metre cable costs less than than $200. I have also used locking WBT's.

Sorry, I bought them awhile back. I see the price now is $225 for 1 metre- still great value ,IMO.
