Just checked the exhibitor list for this year's show and VMPS is not on it.  I know it's early but I am really hoping to hear some VMPS speakers.

Hi Jake,

Over the last few years B's focus has been on the LIVE versus RECORDED demonstration.

Due to the HUGE amount of planning, work, people and mobilization involved (not to mention the COST) he cannot do this twice in a year.  Plus I think he said he himself is not comfortable at that altitude.

Maybe we can "hook up" with an Electronics manufacturer and send a pair of 626's or RM30's but it wouldn't be a Big Production like Vegas.

Thanks for responding, John.  I understand that the live vs. recorded demo is a huge undertaking and didn't really expect that at RMAF.  I did look over the numbers that a mfr deals with just to go to the show and I can imagine it's very difficult to make every show.     Just hoping to hear some VMPS speakers due to friend (and reviewer) John Hoffman talking them up big time in several of our chats.

Guess I'll just have to knuckle down and visit a dealer if VMPS doesn't have product at RMAF this time around.  For now it's crossed fingers.

The BOLDER Cable Company has been showing VMPS speakers at RMAF since the first one.

We have shown RM-30s the first two years, once in a Trinaual system. We have shown RM-V60s with Eastern Electric EL-156 amps.

The last year we had a room by ourself, we showed the 626JR with modifed DCX 2496 digital crossover also with the Eastern Electric amps.

Last year I made the decision not to show alone. It is a great deal of work to set-up and run a room alone. Quite frankly, I never sold anything to a customer from the RMAF. All too often the show is looked at as a place to hear something and then buy elsewhere or used.

I have not sold any VMPS speakers for over a year. Maybe not being at the show had something to do with it. As it stands now, I am planning to remove myself as a VMPS dealer and not sell any products I do not build or mod myself.

I guess it's been my loss having not attended sooner.  Sorry to hear your having some slow times Wayne.  The economy is still in the dumper despite what the news media tells us.

Do you mod the DCX 2496 or did it come from VMPS with the demos?  I imagine it has lots of SMD components and the average DIYer isn't going to be able to do his own.

As to purchasing at the show, it would be difficult for me as I'll be flying.  If I were driving then I would be much more likely to.
