FS: Mint Cary SLI-80 F1 Full Triode SOLD
« on: 5 Feb 2010, 03:55 pm »
SOLD

As I'm not  using it, I've decided to offer my mint condition Cary SLI-80 F1 (full triode version) for sale.  Silver front, with blue Formula 1 metallic top.  I purchased this new from Kevin Deal/Upscale Audio in fall of 2008.  Please check out Kevin's website for a description of the full triode version--as Kevin put its, for the person that loves the sound of triode power, but needs a bit more watts than the typical 300B.  I have the original double box, manual, remote, pwr cord.

I'm offering the amp with the following tube upgrade:  rectifier=pair of Mullard GZ37; power tubes=matched quad of GL reissue KT-77's (I have a matched quad of A stock Black Treasure 6CA7's that were my absolute favorite in this amp; if interested we can talk about including these instead for a few more $); driver tubes=Brimar 6sn7's; and pre=Siemens.  With this tube compliment, my asking price is $1925, plus shipping & paypal fees.

Lots of 100%  positive feedback on the Gon (user name Rrsclyde) and multiple deals here with AC members.

This is a great amp; hope someone will enjoy it!

You can contact me at:  rshorb@johnson-jones.com

Sorry, this is the only pic I have available at work (Cary is of course the amp in the middle), I can get additional pics upon request this weekend.

Thanks for looking!

Bump; as an FYI I have been offered $2400  :o by a local buyer--but of course there is a problem--he doesn't have the cash at the moment and keeps asking me to wait.  So I guess I'm letting the interested parties that have contacted me that the amp is still available, but hopefully won't last forever.

Thanks for looking.

Well I've seen people watch video of a burning fire place on TV to give the impression of warmth, does watching a ceiling fan keep you cool? :D

Good one ; the pic is actually taken from my laptop sitting on a table angled up, so you're seeing the reflection of the ceiling fan of course.  In actuality, the fan is quite high and from viewing positions, no reflection in the tv screen  8).
