Once the caps are charged, I can turn it off for a few minutes to half an hour with no problem on restart.

Is there something I can check in the soft-start circuit? This is a 2003 model.

Thanks

Hi,

i assume you have tried it on a different circuit in the house just to make sure its nit just a 'tired' circuit breaker ?

Hi,
Thanks for the quick response!

I should have been more precise; the Bryston's internal breaker is popping. None of the other Bryston's on the same circuit have any problems. And, once charged, the amp can be shut off for about half an hour without popping the internal breaker when starting up.

Hi Mike - sounds like a faulty circuit breaker in the amplifier - need to get it to service.

Do you ever take a day off?  :)

The diagnosis you gave makes sense, the power conditioner is not showing any unusual current draw on startup.

I see that I can easily get to the breaker to change it. Any chance Bryston would just send me the breaker so we can save both of us the shipping? Or is there a policy at issue here?
