My BCD-3 has performed flawlessly since purchasing in January 2022. Yesterday the "Tray Error" message appeared when switching it on and tray wouldn't open. Tried to put it back into standby, display showed "Shutting Down" but unit wouldn't shut down. Had to turn off at mains. I assumed it was the drive belt as I thought I could hear a faint click when pressing the open/close button, but with the unit being "stuck" in shutting down mode perhaps it's something else? Thoughts welcome before it goes back to dealer next week, under warranty.

Hi, It cannot possibly be the belt, I can tell you that much. The problem is something else but let the dealer take care of it. If they say they have to send it to the factory, make sure they extend your warranty for the period you will have been without the machine. Depending on where you are, it might be your right as a consumer.

Thank you. Not too worried about what the fault may be to be honest, as it’s covered anyway. Whatever it is, hopefully it doesn’t take too long to repair.
Will post back here when it’s rectified. May be of interest to other owners who have the same issue.
