Ron,

You are correct on the size of the quarter round, and I just glued them in place with some light clamping, no nails or screws anywhere in these speakers and they are solid as a rock. I did not use a roundover bit, I hand sanded the quarter round edges where needed to get them flush, and very carefully used a belt sander to round off the corners.

Thanks for the compliment on my work! I have done a few other small projects around my house the last few years with oak veneered plywood and oak trim on the edges. I did a mission style audio gear rack last winter that turned out pretty well, so my confidence has been building. I had enough wood on hand, so I thought, why not try it on speakers?

Skeeter, are you still going to build some N3's?

I have put building these on the back burner for now. When I do decide to build my own set these are at the very top of my list. Having heard the N2X's, I'd really love to build the N3's. For now, I get to live vicariously through other people's builds

I really like the way you made your cabinets with all rounded hardwood edges. My wife even likes that style too. If I can sell the Neo 2X's that I just built, my plans are to build a pair of Neo 3-S's similar to yours. However, instead of using veneered plywood, I would use a 3/4" thick red oak core type veneered panel available from local lumber yards. If they don't stock it, they can usually order it for you for around $60.00 for a 4' x 8' a sheet.

Ron,

That sounds like a really good project. With your speaker building skills I can't wait to see how they turn out!
