Saturday night

Hey!  Anybody want to come over and do some listening now that I have a new air-conditioner.  The sonics of my Trane XR13 are mighty refined and some listeners may pick up on a touch of coolness to the sound.
Hebrew Hammer is coming over and we need a few more to fill out the couch and do some listening.  Maybe start around 6:00 and I'll figure out some food (pizza or Bandana's BBQ)  Let me know if anyone's available.

Bump for Saturday night.   Chris H. will be bringing the M2Tech Hiface to stream some hi-rez to my Havana DAC and the 78 table is up and running so we can spin some Ukelele Ike singing "Cheatin' on Me" pressed on orange-ish shellac.   :o

Ok, ignore that last one, but I still have room for one or two more if anyone is free.

Wish I could make it but I'm working feverishly at finishing Ron's OBs.

With all the talk about 78s lately, I've got the bug to set up my system again. Trouble is I need another 78 TT as my Dual is in the vintage system  :duh: Hey, did you ever get that old Dual 1210 to work?

Veering way off topic, a buddy of mine sent me this Craigslist posting;
1963 Wharfedale Model W-3 speakers
I almost pulled the trigger but I came to my senses  :D

The new AC must feel nice especially after living with window ACs for so long  :green: Finally you can run valves year round  :thumb:

No, the Dual never worked. I bought a new idler wheel and couldn't make the speed selector stay in the right place.  It started in 78, then started moving towards 16.  I'm sure a Dual guy would adjust one little thing and it would work perfectly.  Want it back?

sounds like an enjoyable evening and I would really love to venture out West but...

I read you've tweaked the Behringer a bit and the top end is even smoother now-  :thumb:   can't wait to see 'em in action- should be soon if your schedule allows.

Sure, I'll give it a shot. Who knows, if nothing else I'll run a screw through the speed selector and make it a 78 only table

Sounds like a great time but will have to pass unfortunately.  Sue has been traveling a lot and she's home this weekend.

Had a nice relaxing listening session with Chris and (Randy) HebrewHammer tonight.  The best part?

The apartment was actually cool. Any of you guys remember the "Fostex and Fosters" night 4 years ago?  Just about killed marktwain carrying up those horns in the heat.  Can't believe this is the first real a/c system in the place after 27 years of fighting the old unit.  Absolutely the best upgrade ever!!!

After some BBQ and listening, Chris and Randy decided the Blackmore's wiring needed upgrading, so tomorrow I'll have some Litz wire from BPT to finish off the design.

Chris had a really cool little battery system that we powered the USB extension cable with and it will also power my Graham Slee phono preamp.  We even listened to Betty Ford with Wayne Stratton on guitar on the 78 table.  Maybe this would be a good tune to clear the room at RMAF when it's time to close the doors???

Yes, it was a very "cool" evening listening to the Blackmores, having a brewski, some great food and good company. A very big thank you to Lisa for the nice dinner and puttin' up with us audiophools. The new wiring harness is ready to go. It is the same gauge as what you had but weighs about half as much. What's missing is all the excessive dielectric that mucks up the tonal balance and speed. Can't wait to hear it--will be over later today. Got some honeydos to get out of the way first.
