FS: Van Alstine Fet-Valve Bridge -- SOLD
« on: 1 Mar 2010, 03:12 am »
For sale is an Audio by Van Alstine Fet-Valve Phase Inverter. This device goes between your preamp and two common ground stereo power amplifiers. It provides a balanced output to each power amp. Each channel has one inverting and one non-inverting input to the amps. This enables each stereo power amp to run in mono mode providing three times the output power while eliminating common-mode distortion. This model is the forerunner to the Ultra Bridge. See more info at:

Asking $250.00

Thanks,
Ron

What I'm wondering about is whether this device will help drive the connection between a passive TVC preamp and an Ultra 550.

The description in the Audio Basics issue of 08/1989 makes it sound like the inverter bridge is almost a Fet Valve preamp sans a volume knob. Since a passive preamp is almost nothing more than a fancy volume knob...  :eyebrows:
