Le Amp II Quality

Le Amp II Quality

It looks like more and more people are receiving their Le Amp IIs.  I just received mine last week.  The shipping is expensive.  I like the sonic signature of LA II, but the amp generates loud noise.   The noise includes hum, hiss, etc.  I believe it has quality issues.  I am wondering how people evaluate their LA II.  Please post your opinions.  Thanks.

I had not noticed it, since I was listening from 8 or 9 feet away from the speakers, but there is a small hiss or hum that you can hear right at the speaker or even 2 feet away.  I cannot hear it from my listening position and it is independent of preamp volume or source.  It is even happening when the preamp is off.

I was just given noticed that my amps are being held up from shipping due to these issues. Sounds like they are aware and working on it.

Man, given that long to work on them you'd think that'd all be ironed out by now. :?   I had 3 of them on order for many months before I gave up and cancelled- I figured once they were shipping I still might try them someday.  Now...looks like the jury's still out.  Let us know how they work for you.

Michael is responding the problem I reported.  He sent me an intruction to ground the PCB and case.  I will try it and get back to you guys.  I hope it works.

Michael sent me an instruction how to ground the PCB and case together.  I follow his instruction.  The amp is so silent like a sleeping baby.  So, the noise must be from grounding.
