Clem Snide concert in San Diego

Last night, I saw Clem Snide at the Casbah in San Diego.  This is the third time I've seen them live in the last couple of years - and I have all four of their records (YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC is probably a good place to start).  They are from Brooklyn, and play country-tinged, gentle, and highly ironic songs that are not necessarily immediately accessible to rock fans (I imagine mainstream country pop fans would hate them) - but they are very interesting and sound absolutely wonderful.

The show went very well with a good crowd.  I would highly recommend seeing the band.  They played for just over an hour and the playlist was made from all of their records.  It is hard to find another act that plays the banjo with a bow these days...

They've been one of my favorites for years.  I'm enjoying the new album: The Meat of Life.

What was Clem's snide comment about San Diego?

I think they said something about how nobody chose's to loose they're lose change their in San Diego.   :P  Sorry, that was horrible, but I couldn't resist.

I have to imagine that the band gets great pleasure from confounding record stores who alphabetize by last name.  It would be natural to assume that Clem Snide is a person's name; it isn't.  It's the band's name.
