Well, time ago I read this idea from someone here, and I think that if there's a space to use then it is fine to try it, so JUST FOR INFORMAL SHARING I created

Odyssey Audio's Friends Group in Facebook

Still, the official Odyssey Audio community is this forum, for all matters regarding Odyssey, but as many of you may already participate in FB I think we could sometimes share some videos, pictures, ideas and mainly just for the pleasure to expand Odyssey Audio borders and recognition.

You can find it here: Odyssey Audio's Friends Group

See you there !

Hi,
Nice photos. This is a great tool to spread Odyssey equips.
Congratulations for the good work, Gustavo

Hey Eduardo.  Sorry I didn't see your post sooner.  I was pretty busy this weekend and didn't check the forum.  I created a group last August I believe.  There hasn't been a great deal of activity as most everyone discusses things here.  That's what I figured it would be.  Just thought it would be nice to show Odyssey Audio as a fan page/interest if someone was checking out your FB page.  Looks like we've pretty much got the same members so far.

Hello, I think that -  even more watching other companies - it is good for Odyssey to have certain presence at FB, this forum is the official home for discussing all issues regarding Odyssey but as FULLRANGE says FB is a nice window or platform to spread Odyssey Audio products to a wider public.

I see FB as a lighter and better option to share pictures, appreciations, videos, auditioning impressions could be posted there also and just for the sole sake of having a big, solid and growing group of people that like us enjoy and like Odyssey Audio's products.

See you here and there.

Anodyne, no problem, I just made the group some days ago, guys in Mexico have reacted fine to it and some guys from US are already in.

Is there a way we could join both groups ? Maybe you could add your group to the one I made and as you are so enthusiastic we could share administration or something.

Hi Mr.Eduardo,
I see your site too, it is a beautiful and organized one.
I wish thank you for post the Odyssey prices, just like the Odyssey U.S. Site.
This is so embarrassing to ask the price to a busy manufacturer.
Regards, Gustavo

Maybe I'm stubborn, but I don't do FB (yet).  No time for all that.  I see other people burning a lot of time messing around with FB...and I really don't have the time to manage a huge list of "friends" (or whatever they're called), etc.  Plus there's the feeling of obligation when a "friend" reaches out.  I realize I may find myself in a minority someday, but for now it's not for me.  Maybe I'm just grumpy today

I'd rather not have to look in 2 places for Odyssey discussion - so please keep AC as the central repository of knowledge.

You're not alone Bob, I haven't signed up nor do I plan to. Facebook, Twitter, and all these other sites aren't for me, I see no benefit from them AFAIC. Maybe if I had been born with a laptop in my hands, i'd feel different but AudioCircle is plenty enough for me. It's just too bad there wasn't more Odyssey interest here from above. Too many unanswered questions lately, folks will just stop asking eventually. A problem that I don't see Facebook as the answer to myself.

But the system pictures are nice to look at so it's not all bad actually.  :thumb:

Cheers,
Robin

You are right in all things you said, but also the site is there and many people likes to be there, you see other brands are present in FB so I think Odyssey should be also for people that is already a FB member.

I already made an application to "give away" HiFi audio equipment to friends, FB it's a different thing, I prefer forums and blogs but I can not stop or deny social networks success.

Regarding not creating an alternative repository of knowledge, it isn't that, it is only to share like "hi I own this" or "this pic of my system". And finally I think that knowledge wherever it is located is always a good thing for everybody.

I didn't use it until this year. However, I now find it is an easy way to stay in touch with relatives that I usually only see 1X year, to readily get out a message to the parents of my CCD students, to share photos / information with friends that are in timezones different than mine, receiving information from sites of interest, etc.

I do EDI for our state agency, and adjusting the personal / privacy settings was not a problem. That may not be true for all users. I strongly recommend getting a handle on the privacy setting before entering personal data.

YMMV.

Dear Eduardo,
I already see the prices in your Site. There is no need for additional work.

Dear Folks,
As Eduardo is a dealer he need FB to get new audiences under 30 or 20 years old.
