Hooking up my Squeezebox I see I have several audio output options, my receiver can handle either of 3, my question is will I hear a significant difference between red/white RCA VS. Coaxial/Optical?? Thank you

I would guess coax digital should be the best, but you just have to hook up all options and see which sounds the best to you.

What is the receiver?  I would bet if it is recent, that the DAC in it will be better than the stock Logitech unit.

I would to with either Coax or Toslink digital, whatever you can find affordably.

Sony STR DH800, I hope I didn't just duplicate processes by add SB, judging by the way the sound has changed for the better I don't think I have. Then again I'm new to this. The SB is playing or converting digital files from my laptop to the Sony receiver..hopefully I'm going digital to analog, correct?

Why don't you plug them all in and compare?

In theory, you might get a bit better sound by running the coax digital out to your receiver's digital input. A lot of HT receivers will convert the analog inputs into digital for signal processing. This would be somewhat redundant, adding an extra step in the signal path.

The only way to know for sure which sounds better to you is to listen.
