Part of the family?

These 3way towers are local to me at a good price. They are described as Selah Audio floorstanders, but i can't find any info on them.  Anyone have any info-links on this design? 2" Fountek, 5.25" Seas Excel, 7" Accuton.

Yes, that's a custom design I did a few years back and the asking price is a steal. The 7" is the Accuton C92 (sealed box) with a Seas 5" Excel and Fountek ribbon tweeter. Bass is a little limited so a subwoofer will help but in a small room placed near the rear wall you might find it acceptable.

Thanks Rick. It's good to know i am getting Selah Audio originals, as there is no name or numbers on the cabinets. I had to reinforce the big coils and caps with more cable ties and hot glue, but other than that they are as good as new. Great sounding and a serious challenge to my SSRs.  :)
I almost feel sorry for the Accuton drivers doing only bass duties. What was their name back then? Some aluminum name plates would look great on them.

I don't think I ever assigned a name for them since it was a custom design. I do need to get some nameplates though - thanks for the reminder!

Hi Rick,

What is your opinion on performance of the sealed 7" Accuton? Would you use it again in your other design? I understand that it roll off at about 65Hz. A sub would do wonder with it but it hard to find a sub as fast as the Accuton. :duh:

Actually we have built subs that would have no problem keeping up with it. It's a great driver but in that application the new Scan-Speak aluminum cone Illuminator is superior.
